Prognosis is important after Diagnosis!

A Diagnostic test helps to identify a disease. After that, Prognosis is equally important because it helps to know how the treatment is working and helps to get a complete cure. Prognosis helps to understand if the treatment outcome can be predicted well. Generally, everyone gives more importance to Diagnosis and less to Prognosis.

At AMMAGENOMICS, our special Prognostic Test involves detail-oriented tests, especially connecting disease to microbiota changes as these bacteria decide the outcome of the treatment. We check especially gut bacteria every month until there is no change in the gut bacteria, which is highly recommended for cancer patients and all diseases.

We offer free treatment counselling based on the test results for a complete cure. For more details Call or WhatsApp at +91 7200636219.

Fibromyalgia: When Your Tests Look Normal, but Your Pain Is Real

Fibromyalgia: When Your Tests Look Normal, but Your Pain Is Real Look Deeper, Five Levels Deep A patient-friendly guide from AMMAGENOMICS You wake up tired, even after a full night in bed. Your muscles ache. The pain moves around your body. Some days, concentrating or finding the right word feels like wading through fog. Yet after scan after scan and blood test after blood test, you hear the same words: “Your results are normal.”  For people living with fibromyalgia, this gap between how they feel and what their reports show is one of the hardest parts of the condition. It can leave them feeling dismissed, doubted, or even questioning themselves. Here is what we want you to know: normal routine results do not make your symptoms imaginary. They may simply mean the routine tests were not designed to answer the questions your body is asking. At AMMAGENOMICS, we built the Five-Level Cascade, a whole-system approach to fibromyalgia testing, to help look deeper. What is fibromyalgia? Fibromyalgia is a long-term condition that can cause widespread chronic pain, fatigue, sleep that doesn’t refresh, and problems with memory and concentration, often called “fibro fog.” Many people also experience stiffness, tenderness, and digestive discomfort. It affects an estimated 2 to 4 percent of adults worldwide and is diagnosed more often in women. A helpful way to picture it: think of your nervous system’s pain response as a volume control. In fibromyalgia, that control can become unusually sensitive, so chronic pain signals feel louder than they should. This is a simplified picture of what researchers call altered pain processing. The pain is real. Why do routine tests look normal?Routine investigations look for specific problems, such as anemia, thyroid disease, or inflammatory arthritis. They are important, and they help rule out other conditions. But there is no single established blood test or scan that diagnoses fibromyalgia. Doctors diagnose it from your symptoms, medical history, and examination. That is the right clinical approach, but it often leaves people with a diagnosis and very little understanding of what is happening inside their body. Research over the past decade is beginning to fill in that picture. What research is starting to show Fibromyalgia has long been described mainly as a problem of how the brain processes pain. That remains an important part of the story, but newer studies suggest the rest of the body may also be involved: Studies have reported different gut microbiome patterns in some people with fibromyalgia. In one 2023 study published in Brain, mice that received gut bacteria from fibromyalgia patients developed increased pain sensitivity. A 2021 study in the Journal of Clinical Investigation found that antibodies taken from fibromyalgia patients increased pain sensitivity when transferred to mice, pointing to a possible immune system role. Multiple studies have reported higher oxidative stress and signs of altered mitochondrial function in people with fibromyalgia. None of these findings proves a single cause, and results across studies are not always consistent. Fibromyalgia likely differs from person to person. But together, they suggest that several biological systems may be involved, and that looking at only one of them may miss the bigger picture. The AMMAGENOMICS Five-Level Cascade The Five-Level Cascade is our framework for exploring five connected biological systems. For each level, we explain what it looks like, what we test, and what the results can and cannot tell you. Level 1: Gut Microbiome, your internal ecosystem Your gut is home to trillions of microorganisms that help with digestion, influence inflammation, and communicate with the rest of your body. What we offer: Microbiome testing through targeted qPCR, 16S sequencing, and shotgun metagenomics. Depending on the method, these examine either selected microbial targets or a broader picture of your gut community. What it can tell you: For someone with digestive symptoms alongside body pain, results can provide useful information to discuss with your clinician. Level 2: Oxidative Stress and Antioxidant Capacity, your chemical balance Every cell produces reactive molecules as part of normal life. Your antioxidant defenses keep them in check. When the balance tips, the result is oxidative stress, which can damage important molecules in the body and has been reported in fibromyalgia. What we offer: MDA/TBARS (a marker of oxidative damage to fats) and total antioxidant capacity assays. What it can tell you: How two key aspects of your oxidative balance compare with expected ranges. Level 3: Immune Balance, the body’s signals Immune cells communicate through chemical messengers called cytokines. Research is exploring whether differences in these signals relate to pain and fatigue in some people with fibromyalgia, though findings so far are mixed. What we offer: Selected cytokine measurements, including IL-6, IL-10, TNF-α, and IFN-γ.What it can tell you: The levels of specific immune signals at the time of testing. Level 4: Mitochondrial Biology, your cellular energy system Mitochondria are the power plants of your cells, producing the energy your muscles and brain run on. Keeping them healthy is an active process: cells constantly build new mitochondria, repair them, join and divide them, and clear out damaged ones. What we offer: Molecular panels examining selected gene-expression markers related to mitochondrial maintenance. What it can tell you: Patterns in how your cells may be managing their energy machinery. Level 5: Genomic Integrity and DNA Repair, asking precise questions Your cells have systems that protect your DNA and repair everyday damage. This level explores how well that protective system is coping. Genomic health is a broad field, and no single test captures all of it. If you are considering this level, ask our team which specific assay is available, what it measures, and how the result can be interpreted. For example, a gene-expression test does not automatically measure DNA damage or repair capacity. Why look at connected systems? Your body does not work in separate compartments. The gut, oxidative balance, immune signaling, mitochondria, and DNA maintenance all influence one another. To be clear: research has not shown that fibromyalgia follows a fixed sequence from one level to the next. The value of the cascade is that it helps organize the right questions across systems, rather than looking at one marker in isolation. That also means not everyone needs every test. A focused selection, chosen with your clinician based on your symptoms, gives testing a real purpose. Connected. Interdependent. Personalized. Who is benefitted? The Five-Level Cascade may be worth discussing with your doctor if you: Live with long-term pain or fatigue that remains unexplained Experience “fibro fog” and sleep that leaves you unrefreshed Have digestive problems alongside body pain Want a clearer, more personalized picture of what may be happening in your body It can also support doctors, physiotherapists, nutritionists, and integrative practitioners who want additional biological information alongside the care they already provide. Testing works best alongside good care Established fibromyalgia care can include individually adapted movement and exercise, sleep support, pacing your activities, psychological or behavioral therapies, and appropriate medication. Additional testing should complement this care, not replace it. The right question for any test is simple: What can this tell us, and will it help guide care? Why AMMAGENOMICS? AMMAGENOMICS is a NABL-accredited molecular diagnostics laboratory based in Chennai, India, with roots in Arizona, USA. Our work is led by scientists with decades of experience in molecular biology and cancer research, and we serve patients, clinicians, and research partners around the world.  We built the Five-Level Cascade on one simple idea: when a condition affects the whole body, it deserves a whole-system look, guided by the right questions. Your pain is real. Let’s look deeper. If your reports say everything is normal but your body tells you otherwise, you deserve a closer look. AMMAGENOMICS does advance testing for ringworm rash on skin which is a fungal infection and it keeps recurring.
Gut Microbiome

Ringworm Is Not a Worm! Why Does It Keep Coming Back?

Ringworm is not a worm! Why does it keep coming back? Ringworm isn’t a worm: Why it keeps coming back, and How to look beyond the rash That circular, itchy rash has nothing to do with worms. The name “ringworm” can be misleading. Ringworm is actually a fungal infection of the skin, commonly caused by a group of fungi called dermatophytes. The name comes from its appearance: a red, itchy, ring-shaped patch that people once imagined was a worm under the skin. For many people, ringworm is a simple, treatable infection. For others, it becomes a frustrating cycle: the cream works, the rash fades, and weeks later it is back, sometimes larger and in new places. What Is Ringworm? Dermatophytes feed on keratin, the protein in skin, hair and nails. The infection is named by where it appears: Tinea corporis: body Tinea cruris: groin and inner thighs Tinea pedis: feet (athlete’s foot) Tinea capitis: scalp Tinea unguium: nails Tinea barbae: beard area It thrives in warm, moist areas such as the groin, thighs, armpits, under the breasts and around the waist. Heat, humidity and tight or synthetic clothing make it worse. It spreads through skin contact, shared towels and clothing, footwear, gym surfaces and pets, and can extend to the back, chest and other areas. Ringworm is not a worm  and why does it keep coming back is the question everyone asks. Why Does Ringworm Keep Coming Back? Recurrence usually has a reason. Common contributors include: Incomplete or inappropriate treatment, including stopping once the rash fades Steroid-containing creams used without prescription, which can mask the rash while the fungus spreads Antifungal-resistant strains, such as Trichophyton indotineae, reported by dermatologists in India Re-exposure from family members, pets, clothing, towels or surfaces A hidden reservoir of infection elsewhere on the body, such as the feet or nails Diabetes or other metabolic conditions Medications or medical conditions affecting immunity Individual differences in how the immune system responds to fungal infection When an infection keeps returning, treating the visible rash alone may not tell the whole story. Don’t Just Ask “Where Is the Rash?” Ask two better questions: Which fungus is present? and How is the body responding to it? This is where molecular testing adds information that the eye cannot see. The AMMAGENOMICS Approach: Identify the Organism, Understand the Host At AMMAGENOMICS, we take a system-based approach to laboratory testing. For recurrent, widespread or difficult-to-treat infections, we investigate from two angles. Identify the Fungal Organism A skin scraping or other suitable sample is tested using dermatophyte PCR/qPCR, depending on the clinical requirement. This helps answer: Is Fungal DNA present? Which dermatophyte or fungal target is detected? Furthermore, molecular testing is typically faster than traditional fungal culture, which can take weeks. Therefore, it is especially useful when the infection is recurrent, hard to classify, or has not responded to treatment as expected. Understand the Host Response In selected recurrent or complex cases, further testing can show how the body is responding: Host-response RNA expression panel (blood): examines immune pathways linked to fungal recognition, the targeted antifungal response, inflammation and immune regulation, showing whether the response is effective, balanced or overactive. Inflammatory markers: assess inflammatory and immune signals where clinically appropriate. Gut microbiome testing: the gut microbiome interacts closely with immune biology. Where a broader health assessment is indicated, microbiome testing provides information on microbial composition and diversity. These tests do not replace dermatological evaluation or standard antifungal treatment. They add biological information that supports better-informed clinical decisions. From a Cycle to a Clearer Picture Too often, recurrent ringworm follows this loop: Symptom → Treatment → Recurrence Our goal is to help shift it to: Identify the organism → Understand the host → Investigate contributing factors → Support informed clinical management That is what we mean by a system-based testing approach. Simple Steps to Reduce Risk Keep skin folds clean and dry, especially after sweating Wear loose cotton clothing and change out of damp clothes promptly Don’t share towels, clothing, combs or footwear Wash towels and bed sheets regularly in hot water Get family members and pets checked if they have symptoms Complete the full treatment course your doctor prescribes Avoid steroid-containing cream unless prescribed Recurrent Ringworm? Look Beyond the Rash.If you or your clinician is dealing with a fungal infection that is recurrent, widespread, unusually persistent or not responding to treatment, laboratory investigation can help provide answers. AMMAGENOMICS: Advanced Molecular & Multi-Omics Testing Identify the Organism. Understand the response. Look deeper. Right Testing. Better Understanding. Better Health Decisions. Laboratory findings should be interpreted together with clinical examination and medical history. AMMAGENOMICS testing does not replace evaluation or treatment by a qualified healthcare professional. AMMAGENOMICS helps in understanding hernias and the science beneath it.
Blood Testing

Understanding Hernias: What’s Really Happening Beneath the Bulge

Understanding Hernias: What’s Really Happening Beneath the Bulge A science-based guide from AMMAGENOMICS A hernia often begins with something simple. It starts with a  small bulge in the abdomen or groin that becomes more noticeable while coughing, lifting, bending, or straining. But what’s actually happening beneath that bulge? A hernia occurs when an internal organ or fatty tissue pushes through a weak spot in the surrounding muscle or connective tissue wall that’s meant to hold it in place. A simple way to picture it: imagine your abdominal wall as a strong, tightly woven canvas bag holding your internal organs in place. Normally, that bag is tough and resilient. But over time through repeated strain, chronic coughing, heavy lifting, or the tissue simply weakening a small area of the seam can wear thin and tear. What’s inside doesn’t stay contained anymore; it pushes out through that tear, creating the bulge you see or feel. It’s important to understand that a hernia isn’t the wall “bending” under pressure it’s a genuine structural failure at one specific point, and pressure from lifting, coughing, or straining tends to push more of the contents through that same weak spot, which is why symptoms often worsen with those activities. It helps understanding hernias causes and biology and what’s really happening beneath the bulge. Common types of Hernias Type Where it occurs Notes Inguinal Groin Most common type overall, more frequent in men Femoral Upper thigh, just below the groin crease More common in women Umbilical Belly button Often present from birth, or develop after pregnancy Incisional Site of a previous surgical scar The scarred area becomes a new weak point Hiatal Diaphragm (upper stomach area) Stomach pushes up through the diaphragm; causes reflux/heartburn more than a visible bulge Is a Hernia simply caused by straining? Not always. Lifting, coughing, constipation, obesity, pregnancy, aging, and other factors that increase abdominal pressure can all contribute to hernia formation. But pressure alone doesn’t fully explain why one person develops a hernia while another, exposed to similar strain, does not. That’s why researchers are increasingly studying the quality of the connective tissue itself not just the forces acting on it. The Science beneath the surface: the collagen imbalance The strength of your abdominal wall depends heavily on collagen the structural protein that gives connective tissue its tensile strength. There are two relevant types: Type I collagen — thick, strong fibers that provide load-bearing strength Type III collagen — thinner, more elastic fibers, weaker under mechanical load, and more involved in tissue repair Research on hernia tissue has found altered collagen I-to-III ratios in people with hernias less of the strong type I, relatively more of the weaker type III. This shift compromises the tensile strength of the fascia (the connective tissue sheet) and may make it more prone to tearing under everyday strain. The enzymes that remodel tissue Connective tissue are constantly being repaired and renewed. This process is driven largely by a family of enzymes called matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), which break down and remodel collagen and other components of the extracellular matrix. Their activity is regulated by tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinases (TIMPs). In people who develop hernias, several MMPs particularly MMP-1, MMP-2, MMP-9, MMP-12, and MMP-13 have been found at elevated levels in hernia tissue and, in some studies, in the bloodstream. Several studies have also found TIMP-1 elevated in hernia tissue, suggesting the body is active but not always successfully trying to compensate for accelerated tissue breakdown. This doesn’t mean inflammation or any single enzyme directly “causes” every hernia. Rather, research suggests that mechanical stress, anatomy, connective-tissue biology, aging, and lifestyle factors interact over time and sustained low-grade inflammatory activity appears to tip the balance toward tissue degradation faster than the body can rebuild strong collagen. This is part of why smoking, chronic cough, obesity, and aging are established hernia risk factors: each contributes to sustained inflammatory or mechanical stress on connective tissue. It is good to understand hernias causes and biology. A measurable blood signal One of the more promising findings from recent research: blood levels of PINP (a byproduct of type I collagen formation) tend to be reduced in hernia patients, while PIIINP (a byproduct of type III collagen formation) tends to be elevated. The PINP/PIIINP ratio has shown meaningful ability to distinguish hernia patients from healthy individuals in research settings reflecting the same collagen shift seen directly in hernia tissue, but measurable through a blood draw rather than a biopsy. This kind of biomarker research is still at the investigational stage. It isn’t yet a standard diagnostic test, but it represents a genuinely active and promising area of connective tissue and molecular diagnostics research. How is a Hernia diagnosed? A qualified physician or surgeon should first evaluate a suspected hernia. A physical examination can identify many abdominal-wall and groin hernias; when needed, doctors may use ultrasound, CT, or MRI to confirm the structural defect. This distinction matters: imaging and clinical examination show whether a hernia is physically present. Molecular testing explores selected biological processes occurring within the body. The two answer different questions and neither replaces the other. What do AMMAGENOMICS do? At AMMAGENOMICS, we don’t use molecular testing to replace a surgeon, clinical examination, or imaging. What our laboratory testing can offer is additional information about selected biological systems that may influence tissue health and recovery useful context alongside, not instead of, clinical diagnosis. Inflammatory markers: We test selected cytokines such as IL-6, IL-10, TNF-α, and IFN-γ to help assess inflammatory signaling within the body. These markers don’t diagnose a hernia, but they can provide information about a person’s broader inflammatory environment. Oxidative stress: Oxidative stress can affect cellular and tissue function over time. We offer testing for selected oxidative-stress markers, including MDA/TBARS, where clinically appropriate measurement of biological stress rather than the structural defect itself. Cellular and mitochondrial biology: Tissue maintenance and repair require cellular energy. We also evaluate selected molecular markers associated with mitochondrial function, cellular energy, and mitochondrial quality control, in appropriate testing and research contexts. Emerging connective-tissue research: Markers such as MMPs, TIMPs, PINP, and PIIINP hold particular interest in connective-tissue and hernia research. At present, though, we treat them as research or specialized biomarkers unless specific validation confirms a clinical purpose — a distinction we consider essential. We don’t present promising science as an established diagnostic test until the evidence supports it. These markers helps in understanding hernias causes and biology. Can a Hernia heal without surgery?Once a true structural tear has formed, it will not close on its own no diet, supplement, or exercise program can physically re-knit torn fascia. Addressing inflammation and strengthening the surrounding muscles are genuinely valuable. But their role is different from what many people assume: Before a hernia forms: it is better to manage chronic inflammation, avoid excess strain, and treat chronic cough or constipation. It is better to avoid smoking, and maintain strong core musculature can help protect at-risk connective tissue. It may reduce the likelihood of a hernia developing. After a hernia has formed: these same strategies can help slow progression. It will help reduce discomfort, and support a stronger recovery. But they don’t substitute for repairing the physical defect. The definitive fix: surgical repair (open or laparoscopic, often reinforced with mesh) remains the only way to close an existing structural defect. Key takeaways A hernia is a genuine structural tear in the connective tissue wall. It is not simply a muscle “giving way” temporarily. Connective-tissue quality collagen ratios, enzyme activity, and inflammatory signaling help explain why some people are more susceptible to hernias than others. Blood-based collagen turnover markers (PINP, PIIINP) are an emerging, investigational way to assess connective tissue health. But it is not yet a standard diagnostic test. Lifestyle and anti-inflammatory strategies can help prevent hernias and support recovery. But it cannot reverse an existing structural defect. Surgical repair remains the only definitive treatment once a hernia has formed. Looking beyond the bulge Imagine spotting a crack in the wall of a building. First, an engineer identifies the crack and decides whether it needs repair. But another question matters too: why did that particular part of the wall weaken in the first place? Hernia research is beginning to ask a similar question about the human body. A hernia is fundamentally a structural problem. The connective-tissue quality, collagen remodeling, and cellular signaling may help explain why certain tissues become vulnerable in the first place. At AMMAGENOMICS, our role isn’t to replace the surgeon who diagnoses or repairs a hernia. Our role is to explore selected aspects of biology beneath the surface. Through advanced molecular and biochemical testing we help to understand hernias causes and biology. 📞 +91 73053 16219 | +91 9840656219 🌐 AMMAGENOMICS AMMAGENOMICS |  www.ammagenomics.com  |  +91 72006 36219 Copyright © Pradheep Chhalliyil 2026.
